It is the story of the village fool, rejected by everyone until one Saint-Jean evening. A Babine whom the elves from the Saint-Élie crossing transform into a handsome young man, before casting a less enviable fate upon the greedy “alchemist” blacksmith who turns metal into paper.
Narrated by Fred Pellerin, set to a classical repertoire by Vaughan Williams, Saint-Saëns, Debussy, Stravinsky, Ravel, and Rossini. A visual projection on a large sphere immerses us at the heart of the story, told in nine acts: sleepless night, lunar tale, village gathering, dance of the elves, daylight sun, dark night, the blacksmith’s tree, red night Firebird, and conclusion.

Boomtown en lumière, is an architectural projection highlighting the 75th birthday of Malartic, Abitibi’s city of gold! The show was diffused during 3 nights, on the St-Martin-de-Tour church, in Malartic, Quebec.
It traces the town’s history—from the discovery of gold mines and the city’s construction, through the relocation of households and villagers’ testimonies, to the city’s activities and today’s resources.
This is the maquette of the show.
